There’s something about slower mornings in the kitchen that just feels right.
Coffee brewing, and the smell of baked goodness filling the house.
This baked French toast recipe was my Mother’s Day version of keeping things simple without sacrificing the comfort-food part of breakfast. And honestly? Once you make French toast in the oven, it’s hard to want to go back to standing over a frying pan flipping slices one by one.
No grease....no hovering over the stove..... less mess
And the only way you’re burning these is if you completely forget they’re in the oven.
Directions
1.Preheat your oven to 375°F.
2. Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, making sure both sides are coated well.
3. Lay the slices on your silicone-lined baking tray.
4. Bake for about 5–7 minutes per side, flipping halfway through.
5. For the last side, switch the oven to a low broil for 1–2 minutes if you want that golden finish on top, just don’t walk away and start reorganizing your pantry like I almost did.
6. Top them however you like.
7. Serve warm.
